Choose your partHow it works
Where does one dollar go?Into real plates.
Every dollar in the pool pays for plant-based meals that real people really ate. Here's how we make sure of that, in three checks.
≈ 8¢ to the person who ate it
≈ 2¢ to the friend who invited them
The problem
Anyone can upload a photo.Only real meals get paid.
Screenshots, snacks, empty bowls, the same plate twice. No single check catches all of them, so we stack three, each from a different angle.
Three checks
Every meal passes three checks before a cent moves.
- Check 1
The moment you take the photo
The app makes sure the meal is real before anything else happens.
- Taken inside the Plantee app
- On a genuine phone
- With the camera, not the gallery
- Meals spaced hours apart, not a fortune in an afternoon
- Check 2
IRIS checks the plate
Our meal checker looks at every photo and asks three questions.
- A real meal? Not a screen, not a snack
- Is the protein clearly plant-based?
- A whole serving, before it was eaten?
- Check 3
When money tries to leave
Before rewards are paid out, we look again.
- Withdrawals start at $5
- Every rewarded meal is compared with similar meals, so the same plate can't be paid twice
- Anything unusual? A person checks the actual plates
Fair both ways
We won't pay for fake meals. And we won't turn away real ones.
Both mistakes matter. Paying for a fake meal wastes money that funders put in. Rejecting a real one punishes someone who did the right thing. So the checks are built to avoid both.
| Paid | Not paid | |
|---|---|---|
| Real meal | A real person goes unpaid | |
| Fake meal | Your money pays for a fake |
Rice and dal is dinner, not fraud.
- Take back only the meals that failNever the whole account for one bad photo.
- The whole account, only with clear intentLike a ring of accounts working together.
- Always told whyEvery rejection or reversal comes with a reason.
Why three checks
A fake has to get past all three.Miss one, and the next one catches it.
Say each check missed 1 fake in 10. Together they'd miss 1 in 1,000. And the checker itself is audited, with the data reviewed every day.
